This is a long overdue review that I am writing now; of MultitrackStudio. This is one of my personal favorite workstation (Apart from my first love – my Yamaha PSR-540 of course!) which I have been using for a long time now. MultitrackStudio is an all-round powerful software capable of producing professional music. Equipped with powerful 32 bit audio processing engine, this program allows unlimited tracks adding and unlimited undo option (which I have found very useful) It also supports DirectSound and ASIO sound cards. And above all, it allows recording and editing of both audio and MIDI sounds.
And all the above is a humble 2.0 MB download!
Editing is easiest in this software.
Edit -> Cut/Copy/Paste… is all it takes to edit a track. Other options included are fade in, fade out etc.
Features that made MultitrackStudio my second love:
1) Creation of new folder for each song.
2) Find Unused Files tool (Helpful in erasing scratch files created while you were experimenting thus keeping your hard disk free of junk)
3) Mouse Scroll can be used to control the various knobs thus ensuring accurate results.
4) Tempo can be ‘imported’ from other audio files.
5) DirectX and VST plug-ins.
6) Comments can be added for each track making it easy for identification and editing.
7) Drag and Drop option
8) Drawing tool
9) And a cool graphical interface that gives you a real working console look in front of you and raised eyebrows behind you
I have personally found this software very useful to record, mix and create new compositions.
