Must have software for every blogger using Mac OS X!

When everyone creates a list of must have software’s then I thought that I should also contribute my favs (right now) and let you know that which all software are useful (as a blogger) when you are using Mac OS X.

The list is currently about those software which I’m using while blogging and since I’ve been using OS X from last 2 days only, I still haven’t used all the software but these are some of the software which are used by most of the top blogger’s and thanks to my habit of reviewing software that I tend to find out quickly that which software is worth trying and which not.

I won’t say that these are the software which you should be using as a blogger but trust my instinct that I’m finding it easy to blog while using these software, so you’ll find it simple too. So here’s the list of Must have softwares for every blogger using OS X :

1. Desktop Blogging Client -

Ecto or Qumana : I liked both the software but none of them is close to Windows Live Writer (alas! it’s not available for Mac). Ecto is paid software and Qumana is free and is serving my purpose pretty well, so I guess I’ll settle for Qumana myself.

2. ScreenCasting -

Skitch and Jing : When it comes to taking screenshots I haven’t come across any better application than SnagIt for Windows, however Skitch stole my heart (and used it as logo :P) the moment I used it! However, I found it pathetic that most of the good software in Mac comes with a hefty price. Anyway, not in case of Jing, which lets you record videos with audio. Jing takes screenshots too, however I still prefer Skitch over it for screenshots.

3. FTP client :

CyberDuck is the only program which I used and found it pretty easy to use too. However, I believe that there will be better alternatives to CyberDuck and the reason is that this program misses the most important thing and that is dual pane window. However, I was pretty happy to see it’s performance.

4. Communication tools :

Adium is now my first love! This wonderful software lets me keep in touch with my friends, clients, readers, fellow bloggers and no matter on which service they are , I can talk to them. Adium supports most of the messenger protocols and it’s an essential tool for any blogger on OS X.

No one beats Skype : This has been my most preferred instant messenger. It’s the best messenger ever created and I’ve got all the reasons to support my statement, so you better think twice before getting into fight over which messenger is better.

GMail is my most preferred service for emailing and I’ve heard that Mail application of OS X is more than enough in case you are looking for e-mail client. I’ll suggest you to use Thunderbird at any given day as I’ve personally used it and is awesome. Although, my opinion may change after using Mail (as few mac friends have claimed).

5. Entertainment :

As a blogger I’m sure you’ll understand the pain of writing thousands of words in a day and it becomes really important to run some sort of entertainment and in this case it’ll be music. iTunes is pretty fine and I prefer just to play the songs in random mode and it’s doing the task pretty well.
