process-scanner ProcessLibrary is one of the excellent and free service from UniBlue (Review of other UniBlue products) which is a huge database of processes which run on windows machines. It provides detailed information about the processes and lets you view the processes after a quick scan and sort them by Running processes, Modules and all the processes.

It provides detailed information, like what the software is about, about the developer of the software, safety level, Startup details of the files etc.

There are two varients of ProcessScanner :

1. Stand alone scanner : It scans the computer and then displays the information about all the running processes. This way you can see the detailed report and find out if any of the running process is not safe to use.

2. Task Manager Plugin : This attaches itself to the Windows Task manager and thus provides the information about the individual process displayed in the Task Manager.

Final say about ProcessScanner :

I think it’s a must have utility for everyone. I’ll personally go for Stand Alone scanner as it’s a stand alone utility (you don’t need to install it) and provides the detailed information about all the processes. So, just run it when you think things are acting strangely and that will give you enough idea that which particular process is giving you trouble and accordingly you can take steps to fix them.
