Save your eyes and improve your concentration!

Shock SearchLight is an excellent small utility. It’s basically for applying desktop effects on Windows 2000 and above but it can be really helpful for you as far as your concentration is concerned and can be good for your eyes too!

Shock Searchlight creates a grayish layer around the active window and thus ensures that your focus remains on that screen as everything else is dim.

Well, it can be good for your eyes too, because you are effectively getting exposed to less bright screen and that’s good for your eyes for sure.

Shock SearchLight isn’t the best software, I mean it has some flaws in it’s working so you have to constantly select the option of bringing the gray layer (which is of course adjustable) however, it’s not a great deal if this small effort can save some of your time and eyes.

This program is a nice attempt, but it has flaws. For example, it does not gray out a window if you activate a smaller window in front of it (in cases when the smaller window is located within the boundaries of the larger window. Also, the installer is pretty arcane (and its character set is not translated well on my default latin character set-based Windows).

Looks like a cool utility for Probloggers. :D
