Soliton II is a simple WAV recorder and editor aimed at people who like to have things done easy. It doesn’t mean that this is for the lazy bones either. It does require some homework. Packing a mere 598 KB, we cant expect much powerful audio processing, but true to the promising review the website offers, this softwares packs a punch when it comes to recording and editing basic WAV audio, for basic purposes like recording for a sample or for an animation (these were the very few applications my little brain could think; I am sure there are lot more)
A very basic graphical interface welcomes the user. Yes, very basic. So basic that there is no help option! Importing any existing song opens the waveform with the file details at the bottom, though the options and menus (Do I call those menus?) There are tabs in place of menus. Though there’s nothing wrong with tabs replacing menus, but the tabs could have been more prominent; they avoid my eyes.
Pros of Soliton II:
1) Simple to use.
2) Basic effects on offer.
3) Noise adder and signal generator.
4) Basic filters available.
Cons of Soliton II:
1) Very few effects.
2) Only WAV files can be recorded, imported or edited.
3) Menus (read tabs) not prominent. I even had to search for the exit button.
4) No help file.
5) Very few options.

Final Verdict :
In spite of all these drawbacks, as already told, this is a very basic program that is suitable for users recording and editing sound that’s for purposes other than mainstream music.
