@Martin…same thing happen to me. I even made an image of the file. I can recover the file with file name and folder intact but can run or open any files. O&O reocvery worked to some extend

This is my second attempt at using this program. It looks like I had better sucess the first time.
The first time was when I lost a drive, and it recovered everything on it for me. I can't remember if i had to correctly name any of the files, but as far as I know it did a good job.
The second time, I'm not so sure. But it's probably my fault for waiting to long to use. While trying to install a Linux distro, I mistakenly hit "use whole disk" in a linux partition editor, the second time I hit use most available free space. Anyway, I must have partioned, repartioned, spliced, diced my hd 3 or 4 times. So when I finally got around to using Stellar phoenix windows data recovery, I can't blame it for giving me wrong file names and wrong extensions
