When this blog was on Blogger.com platform, I’d reviewed WebAroo and loved it all the way. I still like the application and what it wants to do, however I still don’t find myself using it at all. Rather I tend to close it as soon as it starts.
Well, I’ll tell you that why I do so and why you should use it and why you shouldn’t in detail but before that lets see what’s new in this new version and how it has gone up from where it started, when last time we reviewed it.
WebAroo 2 is a client which downloads the websites, videos, images for you, so that you may access it while you are offline and still feel that you are online.
The notable features of WebAroo are that it downloads all the videos, web packs, photos at the background and doesn’t affect your normal browsing experience except for the fact that your browsing will be slow (as it’s constantly downloading something in the background).
I love the fact that it can easily download the videos and play them with in browser however, I really find it bugging that it constantly asks you to add the feed (which these days most of the websites have) and videos for it to download. I just had to disable the plugin for Firefox, in order to ensure that I don’t get bugged by the notification.
Final thoughts and view points :
WebAroo 2 is an excellent program and I love the fact that it provides all the features which one can expect from an offline explorer (not truly but kind of offline explorer). However, I’ll suggest each and everyone who has less space on hard disk or have slow internet connection to stay out of it.
Suggestion for WebAroo :
All the features are pretty awesome if you could add the ability of adjusting the speed at which it downloads the stuff from the internet, then it’ll be a perfect app for offline browsing.
Tip : If you are information junkie! Try WikiSlice feature of WebAroo and you’ll fall in love with WebAroo.
Oh noo..slowliness and crawliness really shut down the mood to have one :)
Wow! WikiSlice is just amazing. Thanks for the heads up!
