Create videocasts for free using iMovie!
This is a kind of follow up post on what was a small mistake from me or should I say a waste of time by me! I applied too much head and found that how we can create videocasts for free with the help of Skype and Jing! Thanks to Ramanujam, who dragged my attention towards iMovie (not that I didn’t know about it) and informed that iMovie can create videos and that Skype-Jing duo trick is really not required!
I’m not sure whom to blame for this as I can’t imagine me missing such small thing! I guess it’s just the Mac experience of an experienced windows user. So here’s the simple way of create videocasts using iMovie :
1. Open iMovie.
2. Click on File -> Import from Camera.

That’s it! A new window will open and just press the record button and you are good to go. iMovie is an excellent application and using that you can do the basic video editing without any problem! I guess I won’t need any other application as I’m not at all into video editing and what ever videos I’ll be doing, I’m sure iMovie will be suffice for all my needs.
Another feature which I liked about iMovie is it’s ability to upload videos directly to YouTube!
Quick Tip : If you are thinking of creating videocasts then don’t just rely on YouTube! Every videocaster suggest to create the accounts and simultaneously upload the videos on other services. Just in case a service disables your account, you have videos uploaded on other servers!

You can also use QuickTime player -> “File” menu -> “New sequence/audio/recording…
But iMovie is the good pick if you need to do some editing.
