I found mine (in ASCII) in the router settings (Linksys WRT54G2) under Wireless > Wireless Security.

Don’t know if other Linksys models have this or even other brands, but it’s sure faster than trying to guess or brute-force your forgotten key.

Works like a charm – and I'm pretty darn clueless on this stuff. Pulled this page up from a Google search for "wireless security key", downloaded the file, ran the utiltiy, and viola!!!
And to think there are creeps out there who would rather write a virus. Plus, Geek Squad didn't tell us the password and then would not remedy the situation.

Indeed, try converting the hex by hand untill you find the correct key.

This works like a charm. Extract -> Run it -> Done. Can’t get simpler than that.
