First Delhi Twitter Meetup : When is your city having one ?

  17 Mar 2008 by ReviewSaurus | ,

twitter Twitter has been an excellent tool and the craze of Twitter is picking up really fast in India and this post tells the state of the Indian Twitosphere (the report is around 3 months old and I believe that the current state will be much better).

Anyway, yesterday I joined the First Delhi Twitter Meetup which was organized by bunch of enthusiastic twitter users. The idea behind the twitter meetup was to meet the users in person and to ensure that more and more people become aware of this amazing tool.

There were 20 + people in this twitter meetup and I have to give extend kudos to Gaurav Mishra (twitter user : gauravonomics; Gaurav has organized the first twitter meetup in India and that was the Mumbai Twitter meetup) who came all the way from Mumbai to Delhi to attend this meetup.

The meeting started with introductions and then Sanjay Srivastava gave the presentation that how twitter can be used as there were quite a few people who didn’t know about twitter and think that it’s a waste of time.

Another Gaurav Mishra (I still kept forgetting his name) was pretty quick in telling everyone that what all was discussed and what all he learned in the meet :

1. Go to www.Google.com , type in <keyword> site:twitter.com and you will get all public messages on twitter with the keyword

2. Go to http://tweetscan.com and search for the keywords, A wonderful website with a lot of brains put in .

3. Twitter Troll provides excellent insight on what`s happening on twitter, the owner seems to a die-hard twitter fan.

I can only say one thing that the Delhi Twitter meetup was a good experience and nice initiative and I think that more meetups should be held across the cities as this can be a great way of meeting new and interesting people.

Do you think that Twitter is useful or do you think it’s a waste of time ? I think it’ll a very interesting conversation and if you are on twitter follow me here and I’ll follow you back!

    Twitter is indeed awesome :D

There were initially some things going wrong with Twitter like downtimes, etc. but now they seem to be catching up and are able to handle the load better.

It’s distracting sometimes, but nonetheless it’s also very handy and things like this account on Twitter are great tools:

Trust me, I’ve read a few stories on Twitter before they even reach mainstream sites like BBC, CNN etc :)

Twitter is easy to use, comes with many options (web, IM, mobile, etc.) and is kinda invaluable ;)
