you can also find some extra features on the labs version of other Google products which allows you to make yourself invisible but it does not always override the gtalk client software if you have that installed

I guess you are little wrong in your stats here. GTalk doesn’t tops the list at all! It’s no where near to Yahoo and MSN.

Well, the reason is simple. With so little functionality and features, GTalk still tops in the list of all the IMs used as of now. Then, why to hurry? Their business is doing good. Why to change or upgrade? Instead, it’s better to concentrate on other areas where there are real requirements to fulfill.

@ Rakshit : We can only hope that they’ll do so. Rather, I think your comment makes more sense, they are testing all the features with GMail and the web based widget and then later on they’ll come up with versions of various other OSes too…I just think so but I still wonder that why the hell it’s taking so much time for them to do all this, not that Google is short of any resources.

I think we will see all the changes in GTalk at once. They are testing them on gmail and when all tests are over, I hope they will be implemented in GTalk.

We can just hope. That’s it.

Thats a great feature they have added, It was much required.
Now Google should update gtalk, and open support for video calls.
