I was doing a search on Google and came across a search result and it took me to the Mixx website, those who don’t know Mixx is a social bookmarking service or you can call it a digg like site and is drawing good amount of attention amongst various bloggers.
I was bowled over by their suggestion of stop using the search engines. Do you think they are doing the right thing by suggesting people to stop using the search engine ? Will you ever stop using search engines in favor of social bookmarking sites like Digg, Reddit, Del.icio.us or in this case Mixx ?

They may not mean it literally – it is probably that they suggest using Mixx more and Google less. Surely, there’s no way a social news site can cut out Google for good.

if i want cursory info i search goog, but if i really want to know alot i search as many places as i can find time for. ggog is great for quickies, but i can alot more varying results by including other engines.
Yes, perhaps consider stop using Google. piracy invader, data miner, etc.
Google is first company in a long while to challenge Micro$ft in enterprise stuff, but who is going to challenge in search stuff. Google is simply one near monopoly in the making aiming to replace another near monopoly (Microsoft). Yuck. I’ll take Clusty.com, Gigablast.com, Anoox.com, Mamma.com search engines over Greedy Google. I have already given up Gmail since they data log every email sent and received. Google is evil. Yup. That’s for sure.
