Well, I wonder that if the team at Zoho ever sleeps ? Few days back they had released a major release and now they’ve come up with another major step and have released the mobile version of Zoho writer and that too with the support of Google gears and thus allowing you to access your documents even when you are offline.
I tried accessing it using Opera simulator, however it detects it as a laptop/desktop. I’m going to try it out with Windows Mobile Emulator and lets see how it performs (in the upcoming post, I’ll let you know how to run Windows Mobile emulator).
It’s quite interesting to see that Google Docs still doesn’t support offline version through Google Gears and well, how can you expect the mobile version supporting it, when it doesn’t have the facility on the desktop version.
Just a reminder, Zoho launched the mobile interface with iZoho (near launch of iPhone last year) - Zoho’s iPhone based interface and so Zoho is covering most of the mobile sector and will become a complete package as soon as it starts supporting Symbian operating systems too.
Zoho which is still unknown to most of the Indians and has biggest user base coming from U.S. should concentrate on Symbian based OS too, as this will give them the opportunity to capture Nokia based phones market pretty early (and may gain popularity amongst Indians as Nokia has got the biggest market share amongst mobile phones), which is still untapped as there are not many powerful applications as far as office apps are concerned which are based on Symbian OS.
I think the Zoho range of products is getting better each days. Support for mobile, that is truly awesome!
