I’ve been using computers for almost 12-13 years now and all these while, I hardly found anyone who knew a little bit about computers and who stood up and proudly said that they love Microsoft. All these while, I always found people whining about various aspects of Windows, which they didn’t like. If not those, I met with those people who just love to “Hate Microsoft” and love to “praise linux or mac”.
However, now I’m coming across those people (well, on the internet) who are showing there full support for Microsoft and if not Microsoft directly, at least they are appreciating the fact that Microsoft is changing its strategy and working on “Windows 7” and trying to make an OS which will not only be simple but will be able to make life easier for those who are not tech savvy!
Recently, I came across the blog posts of Randall Kennedy (it seems, he’s not in love with Windows anymore) and you’ll see plethora of comments which will be in favor of Microsoft!
Just to give you an idea of how the comments are floating around – I bring some excerpts of the comments from that page -
Oh yeah, that’s the only reason anyone could like Windows. How ignorant can you be? Apparently quite. What you’ve bought into is the BS mantra of the Linux religion. Not the least bit surprising given all of your comment. If you can accuse those who not only use Windows but like it of being persuaded by the marketing prowess of MS I those of us that know better can accuse you of falling into the Linux religion. I’m not someone who falls for “marketing” tactics. I have a lifetime of experience with every OS you can name and I LIKE WINDOWS despite it’s various faults because I know they all have faults. As I said before, Linux on the desktop, LOL. Religion IS the right word to use when talking about Linux. It’s used the unhappiness of certain users to create this religious movement that talks of an operating system that is or will be the savior of the world. It’s damn funny, at least it would be if it weren’t so pathetic.
The above comment was from Rob. – I like the fact that Rob has even though mentioned that Windows is full of faults and still he likes it. There is a simple reason for the same and that’s the amount of people who use Windows and how has now become a part of everyone of us.
That’s all of what nowadays? $50 for the RAM and maybe $100 for the video card?
Less than $500 would buy a computer capable of running Vista well and you are complaining that that is too much? Ziff Davis just ran an article on building a $350 Vista computer.
Why is this an unreasonable requirement for today’s OS’s? As I recall a Mac benefits from having 2 GB f memory as well. What’s the problem?
This comment is from John on Hill. – What a wonderful point! John has clearly hit the hammer on the right spot of the nail. We see that most of the people whine that how OSes are becoming resource hungry. Well, I run a Mac myself and I’ve installed 4 Gb of ram on it, to ensure I can do smooth operations. Clearly, if I’ll be running Windows XP or as a matter of fact, Windows Vista, I’ll be able to run the computer without noticing much difference.
So, if you are a Linux fan or Mac fan, there is nothing wrong in it. However, if you “love to hate Microsoft” then there is hardly anything one can do. However, I can just say one thing – Try to look at the positive side and you’ll know that how Microsoft has changed the whole world and that one should rather love them for that.
